Burgos, March 13, 2019.- ASTI TechGroup has incorporate 9 vocational students from Burgos centres to undergo 380 hours of training within the facilities of the company, a European leader in mobile robotics. Upon completion of the training, thanks to the Talent 4.0 ASTI Academy program, the best students will have the opportunity to develop their professional career at the company located in Madrigalejo del Monte (Burgos).

After carrying out 33 competency-based interviews, passing a test and receiving feedback from various students’ academic tutors, the Human Resources team of ASTI Mobile Robotics has selected the 9 most suitable candidates for the organisation and the positions developed there. The students have already begun their practical on-the-job training process, coming from the Juan de Colonia, San José Artesano and Simón de Colonia education centres.  They are students of Information Systems Administration, Telecommunications and Computer Systems, Industrial Mechatronics, Development of multiplatform applications, Electrical and Automated Facilities, Administration and Finances and Transportation and Logistics.

The majority of them will carry out their internship at ASTI Mobile Robotics , mobile robotics engineering dedicated to the study, design, manufacturing, implementation and maintenance of automated logistics solutions for the optimisation of internal transportation, by means of automated guided vehicles (AGVs). The 4.0 training programme extends over a total of 26 months that are divided into four stages: the first one lasting two months; two stages of six months each and a fourth stage lasting 12 months, in which the students acquire new skills under the supervision and mentoring of the ASTI technical team.

During the four editions of ASTI Academy, close to one hundred vocational students have undergone training at the Burgos company. The incorporation rate of the last three is in excess of 80 percent. One of the students from the programme’s third edition, Ana María García, points out that “I recommend the Dual vocational training to everyone, it is a way to put into practice everything that you have learned, you end up being more prepared”. The selection of students for each edition of the programme is undertaken through a personal interview and a self-evaluation questionnaire aimed at evaluating the main personality characteristics and specific vital skills when it comes to developing a number of professional activities. This test involves assessing skills like mobility, results orientation; and teamwork. With regard to those that require strengthening, development of relationships; change initiative; and action orientation.

Talent 4.0

Burgos engineering is aware of the fact that the major strategic challenge of Industry 4.0 is not only technology, but also people and the management of their talent. Consequently ASTI launched  ‘Talent 4.0’, a pioneering talent management project in Spain and in Europe to comprehensively stimulate, attract and develop enabling Industry 4.0 talent.
