The ‘Haz y Envés’ Project by Lara López Peña, a student at the School of Interior Architecture of the Unversity of Burgos (UBU), was the winner of the ‘ASTI Experience’ Ideas Competition, which was seeking the adaptation and the beautification of the ASTI TechGroup facilities in Madrigalejo del Monte (Burgos), specifically, its first floor and access area. Likewise, Micaela Aseguin with ‘Énfasis’ and Alicia Maraña with ‘Piezas’ both received commendations for their projects.
Of the six projects presented, ‘Haz y Envés’ is the one that best meets the requirements that the Burgos company was looking for, especially valuing originality and functionality in the project’s design, alignment with the values and technological profile of the company and the richness of the end experience that the solution provides to the plant’s clients and visitors. Lara López Peña has developed a project that meets the required functionality, allowing accessibility, mobility and communication; as well as the security and habitability criteria, with protection against noise and energy saving systems and thermal insulation. The student of the School of Interior Architecture has based her work on extrapolations of topographic contours and with screens that play with transparency creating new configurations of spaces with light without shadows, cancelling out the concept of office while allowing it to be perceived behind it.
The students have worked for six months on the realisation of these projects that they presented with panels and a scale model before the jury consisting of the architect Félix Escribano; the Director of Organisational Development of ASTI TechGroup; the Professor of Projects and Composition of the School of Interior Architecture of the UBU, Loreto Navarro; and Alberto Arribas, Project Manager of ASTI Mobile Robotics, as secretary.
Now, the winning project will receive financing in order to carry it out, with a six-month grant for its development.
